Once a week a small but stalwart group of friends and artists meet for three hours of studio time at the Linekona Center of the Honolulu Academy of Arts . We paint, draw, stitch, write, print, talk story, listen to music, or work in quiet... The classroom is large and there is plenty of table space, a luxury for us small apartment dwellers. The atmosphere is laid back and the hours just fly by. Here's a look at some of the friendly faces. The top photo shows Jahn Peter, prolific painter and our fearless leader.
Elisabeth, fine artist with a passion for tango and hula dancing.
Kristine, the ultimate stitcher and improv artist
Sweet Leila, water colorist and wonderful gardener.
Me, still at loose ends when it comes to art.
Our Open Studio sometimes feels like a continuation of my Bad Art Mondays in the sense that we're all just doing whatever. Here are some random pictures of what we've come up with in three hours.

Kristine's Foofoo Bird in the making
My 3 pieces of trash art:
I literally fished some people's unfinished and
junked paintings out of the trash and made them my own!
We're looking for more artists to join us on Fridays, 1:00 - 4:00 PM.
Let me know if you're interested.
