STRANGE

I did a double take when I saw this contraption on an Ala Moana Blvd sidewalk.  Love the heavy chains.  But what is this about?  Some jury-rigged wooden box!  What is its function?  What is holding what in place?  STRANGE!  On the other hand, a group of Japanese tourists walking behind me must have thought that I was strange for stopping and taking pictures of this thing.

REMEMBERING BOB AT BELLOWS BEACH

We went to Bellows Beach to remember and celebrate the life of Bob Palmer.  When Phil and I arrived it started to sprinkle and the wind picked up, but I still got a few beach pictures in.  Am having fun goofing around with colors and angles.

But after a while it got darker and colder.  Rain started blurring the horizon.

Mark says, "Happy Trails, Bob!"
Not really.  I made that up.
Mark was just mugging for the camera.
But he could have said it.

PAINTING THE TOOL SHED

Today was a designated workday at the Diamond Head Community Garden.  Members need to attend four garden meetings a year and two workdays.  I was okay on the meetings, but since I was lacking one workday and this was the last official workday of the year, I volunteered to paint the inside of the tool shed.  So this morning, instead of sleeping in, which I desperately needed, I hustled myself over with my leftover kitchen paint, a stir stick and several brushes.  Fortunately my co-gardener Julia came to my assistance.  We emptied the shed of all the tools, swept it clean (sorry, spiders), and painted the walls, ceiling and floor.  We decided that the doors should be another color and we'd paint it next time.  The white rectangles are labels that denote which tools go where.

L & L DRIVE IN

While I waited for my order of garlic salmon, this well-endowed and blazingly colorful duo entered, instantly filling the place with calls and motion.

ONE PHOTO A DAY

Bali angel at my window

At yesterday's Pen Women meeting, photographer Hawkins Biggins invited us to post one picture a day on an Facebook group page she will start.  The idea is to discover what themes recur over time.  This would  definitely inspire me to post more regularly.  These are my first two photos.
